The Releasing Spear is designed to provide a reliable and effective method for engaging and retrieving internal fish during downhole fishing operations. The tool is built with rugged high-strength alloy steel construction to withstand severe pulling forces, impact loads, and jarring conditions commonly encountered during fishing operations.
The spear engages the fish internally over a large contact area, ensuring strong gripping performance while minimizing damage to the fish structure. If retrieval becomes impossible, the spear can be easily released and disengaged from the fish, improving operational safety and flexibility.
The Releasing Spear assembly consists of:
- Mandrel
- Grapple
- Releasing Ring
- Bull Nose Nut
The mandrel is manufactured from specially heat-treated high-strength alloy steel and is available in two configurations:
- Flush Type → enters completely into the fish
- Shoulder Type → provides a positive landing position on top of the fish
The tool can also be combined with additional downhole accessories such as pack-off assemblies and internal cutters for more complex well intervention applications.
